Fissured rock consolidation in mountain slopes - involves driving chisel shaped wedge units with adhesive into cracks

As required for safeguarding paths or ski slopes from falling rock in mountainous terrain, provision is made for consolidating rock filled with fissures. Chisel-type wedging units (4), with applied adhesive (5), are driven into gaps, esp. cracks in the rock. These can be made of corrosion-resistant, impact-resistant and slightly elastic material, and their ends can be cut off flush with the surface of the rock. Glass fibre is a suitable material. This is esp. effective for preventing rock comprising loosely superimposed slabs from breaking loose.
