Automatic controller of aim of solar collector - uses microprocessor which computers theoretical aim and generates drive signals to positioning motors
The appts.utilises motors (4,5) to control azimuth angle and orientation angle, detectors (6,7) of the effective position, and a microprocessor, programmed to calculate the aim of the collector and compare against pre-set values. The microprocessor (9) is timed by a clock (22) and is coupled through an interface (25) to a power amplifier (26) which drives the positioning motors. The microprocessor programme calculates the theoretical aim required and compares this against the measured values in order to generate an error signal from an optical tracking device to displace the positioning motors and correctly aim the collector. An a-d converter is connected to the microprocessor and receives the analogue output of the tracking device.
