The pile driver has an attachment (1) fixed solidly to an agricultural tractor via a three-point yoke, a sub-assembly or mechanical and hydraulic command, and a post holder and guide. The plate and sub-assembly are connected by a double effect hydraulic jack (10), and they pivot relatively about a common axis. The latter cooperates with the tractor yoke axis to guide (30) the post vertically. The guide is a hollow column fixed to a wing of an I section mast (20) on which a metal mass (22) on a bogey (21) is moved up and down a hydraulic jack to drive the post.
