A windsurfing board includes a cylindrical well 4. The board mast includes a mast foot in the form of a piston 3 having a gasket 6 making a sliding fit in the well. A duct 7 either in the wall of the well or in the mast connects the exterior of the mast foot to the bottom of the well. The duct is blocked by a removable plug 8 or a resilient sleeve to produce a negative pressure in the well bottom preventing the mast from being pulled out. IMAGE
