PURPOSE:To correct deflection of a blank and enable holding of a blank keeping its flatness by providing a driving mechanism and a guide mechanism to give two-stage strokes to the guide head of the blank. CONSTITUTION:When feeding a blank 7, the guide head 8 of a blank deflector 5 is held at the guide position by the action of an air cylinder 13. The blank 7 is fed laterally to the upper part of a lower die 1 by a carrying device 20, and the center of the blank is supported by a horizontal plane 8b. Then, the cylinder 13 is driven downward, and the head 8 is lowered to a blank holding position which is in the same height with a blank holder 4. A blank holder 21 having a projected stripe 21a that fits to a groove 3 of the holder 4 is lowered to hold the horizontal blank 7. An upper die 23 is lowered, and the head 8 is lowered resisting to a coil spring 14 according to deformation of the blank 7, and to bring it to nearly the same height as the concave forming face 2 of the lower die 1.
