(A) m-Phenoxy phenoxyalkyl phosphonic acids and derivs. and their analogues of formula (I) are new, where R is H, NH2, Cl, CN or NO2; n is 0 or 1; m is 1,2 or 3; R1 is H, 1-8C alkyl opt. substd. by 1-3 halogens, Ph or PhCH2, but it is not H when n is 0; R2 is (CHR4)m-CW3-(X3)n-R7, (CHR4)m-X2-CW4-R4, H, a metal cation, 1-8C alkyl opt. substd. by 1-3 halogens, cyano-(1-8C) alkyl, 3-8C cycloalkyl, 4-12C cycloalkylalkyl, 3- to 8-membered heterocyclic ring contg. 1N or O opt. substd. by a 1-4C alkyl, 2-8C alkenyl, opt. substd. by 1-3 halogens, 2-8C alkynyl opt. substd. by 1-3 halogen, (1-8C)alkoxy-(1-8C)alkyl, (1-8C)alkylthio-(1-8C)alkyl, di-(1-8C)alkylamino-(1-8C)alkyl or opt. substd. aryl; R3 is 1-8C alkyl or 2-8C alkenyl both opt. substd. by 1-3 halogens, 3-8C cycloalkyl, 4-12C cycloalkylalkyl or opt. substd. aryl; or R3+R4 form 2-4C alkylene; R4 and R6 are H, 1-8C alkyl opt. substd. by 1-3 halogens, 2-8C alkenyl, 2-8C alkynyl, 1-8C alkoxy or 1-8C alkylthio; R7 is a R2 substituent as defined above, except for the first 2 gps.; Q is CH or N; W is O, S, SO, SO2 or NR5; W1, W3 and W4 are O or S; W2 is O, S, SO, SO2, CH2, CO or NR5; R5 is H or 1-8C alkyl; X, X1 and X2 are O, S or NR5; X3 is O, S, CH2 or NR5; Y and Z are H, 1-8C alkyl or 1-8C alkoxy both opt. substd. by 1-3 halogens, or halogen, CN or NO2; and t is 1 or 2.
