The editing method comprises; (I) displaying the text sentence within a display area except a first area defined by line and character pitches on each display line; (II) converting the first area into a second area having a size defined on the basis of printing line and printing character pitches in the printer; (III) displaying the second area on the screen of the display unit; (IV) drawing a derived figure in the second area on the basis of a data defining the figure; (V) synthesizing and printing the figure drawn in the first area and the text sentence displayed in the display area except that which is in the first area.
