Colour bar generator for connecting to a commercial colour television for the purpose of colourmetric demonstrations in teaching

In order to enable precise and inexpensive colourmetric demonstrations in teaching, a description is given of a colour bar generator for connecting to a commercial colour television, which generates one vertical colour bar each in the primary colours of red, green and blue on the screen of the television, each of these colour bars which are of the same width but can be controlled in width having a continuously controllable luminance and being capable of displacement in the horizontal direction; in particular, the colour bars can also be pushed over one another, so that the additive colour mixing can be exhibited. In order to expand and facilitate the possibilities of demonstration, the described colour bars can be generated simultaneously on the left-hand and on the right-hand half of the screen and controlled independently of one another.
