A set of running wheels with two axles for railway vehicles and trams, consisting of a base frame which consists of two longitudinal carriers whose ends bear two wheel axles with wheels of reduced diameter by means of a joint and of a transverse load carrier which is supported on the central parts of the two longitudinal carriers by the insertion of single-stage vertical and transverse suspension means. The transverse load carrier is connected to one end of a longitudinal carrier by means of a joint and to the opposite end of the other longitudinal carrier by means of longitudinal arms, a diagonal arm connecting the outermost ends of the two longitudinal carriers which lie opposite the corresponding longitudinal arms by means of a joint.
