The boilers of a thermal power station are provided with metering conveyors (1) which supply solid fuel to the burner. A vertical filler duct (3) is located above an inclined scraper conveyor track (5) which moves on a triangular path about drums (12-14). The scraper conveyor belt which carries the coal to the actual feeder belt (2) moves below scraper plates (15,16). These regulate the height of coal on the belt sections (5,6), thus producing the required metering of the fuel transfer.
