The support for the connecting bar in a telephone exchange comprises a plastic body (1) carrying a series of parallel lightning protector cartridges one for each of the subscriber lines. A narrow section (3) of the body is encased in a hearing (4) in the support (5) carrying the connector plugs (6) connected to the telephone lines the part (7) opposite the narrow part carries an elongated handle (8) to facilitate insertion or removal of the body w.r.t. the support. This part also contains strips (9) of bronze to establish electrical contact between the plugs and the tags (10) on the cartridges, the narrow section of the body contains similar metallic strips (11) connected to other tags (12) on the cartridges These strips are connected electrically to an external tongue which makes contact with the support.
