The radiant-tube heating unit burner conventionally has a mixing chamber with primary-air holes in the walls, housing a gas nozzle and with a stabiliser plate facing this. The stabiliser has peripheral secondary-air holes and a central nozzle for the primary air-gas mixture. This nozzle's (13) dia. (d) is no more than one tenth of the distance (1) between primary-air holes (7) and stabiliser plate (11); its cross-sectional area (F3) is 0.8 - 1.0 times the primary-air hole total area (F1) and 0.6 - 0.8 times that of all secondary-air holes (12).
