METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FEED CONCENTRATING COMBINED WITH WETTING OF FODDER GRIST

Hard grist, e.g. from cereals, maize or lucerne, contg. on average about 9-10 wt.% humidity is humidified and the feed value of the grist is increased by adding 3-4 wt.% based on grist of a waste liquor from theer, alcohol or oil producing industries, pref. beer yeast, beer filter feculence, alcoholic slops, alcohol yeast, oil mucilage or a mixt. of these. The waste liquors are added by spraying after filtration at 4-12 bar pressure to a particle size less than 1 micrometer and homogenisation. The equipment for the process consists of a pref. heated storage tank for waste liquors, a measuring vessel, a liq. filter, a stirred mixing vessel, connecting pipework, a delivery pump for moving the liq. from the storage tank to the measuring vessel, the pump governed by level indicators in the measuring vessel, and a pump delivering the liquid under pressure from the measuring vessel through the filter and the spray nozzles to hte mixing vessel dia. a pressure regulator set to produce 4-12 bar pressure.
