The transmission link for a time division multiplex signal in one direction contains an injector (5), and a transmission link of the opposite direction contains a decoupler (12). These elements are used to couple or decouple a narrowband signal (ISDNa or ISDNb) into or from a time division multiplex signal which contains a 5B/6B-coded broadband signal (DBSa, DBSb), in exchange for filler words.
