In order to reduce the outlay for the installation of such a cable on a building site, it is proposed according to the invention to manufacture the individual components of the cable beforehand at the manufacturer's and to deliver them to the building site in containers. To this end, the jacket tube of the cable is composed of individual steel tube sections (1) which have at their ends external threads (G) and are screwed to one another with threaded sleeves (2). The anchorings of the cable are designed as one-piece steel bodies in the form of trumpet-shaped enlargements (4), on which an anchor plate (5) is supported. The individual strands are anchored in the anchor plate. For the cable, bundles consisting of threaded rods are preferably used, which are wound up together to form a bunch (13).
