The hologram is produced, for example, in accordance with the Lippmann-Bragg process by an object beam and a reference beam which originate from the same light source; the object beam contains the amplitude information corresponding to the photograph, so that the latter is imaged at the same time on the base layer corresponding to the hologram plane. The aperture diaphragm of the optical imaging system represents the object to be imaged of the hologram. In order to produce a hologram of good total resolution, even in the case of relatively large white components of the photograph, an amplitude raster comprising points or lines is superposed upon the amplitude information.
