The method for the determination of the rheological characteristics pertaining to the polymer and dispersed systems provides for disposing a tested system (4) in a gap extending between two coaxial cylinders (2, 3), mechanically deforming it by means of the tangential displacement of one of the cylinders (2, 3) in relation to the other thereby effecting the constrained shearing flow of the tested system (4), and applying the electric field thereto. The rheological characteristics of the tested system (4) are determined by measuring the values of the specified deformation and the double refraction.
