Process and apparatus for the chemical conversion of natural seawater into a liquid for fertilisation of plants

According to this process, the natural seawater is sent into one or more treatment vessels 1a, 1b, 1c, inside which the conversion of the chlorides, in solution in this water, to sulphates and/or to phosphates, and/or to nitrates, is carried out by addition of a sulphuric acid and/or a phosphoric acid, and/or a nitric acid. In each of these vessels, a swirling movement is imparted to the water to be treated during its circulation inside the treatment vessel(s). Ammonia is also injected near to the outlet from each treatment vessel, by means of injectors connected to pipes 18a, 18b and 18c. Finally, additives, such as potash, can be added to the fertilising solution thus obtained. This solution can be used for spraying soils for the purpose of cultivating plants of various kinds. IMAGE
