PURPOSE:To facilitate quantitative determination with high sensitivity, by blowing CO2-gas in a liquid specimen prior to performing measurement by an ion chromatograph to convert said specimen to a carbonated one. CONSTITUTION:In an ion chromatograph, a definite amount of a liquid specimen 12 (concn. of about 0.1-1mol) is injected in the ion chromatograph 9 from a liquid specimen injection port 91 by an injector (syringe). CO2-gas is blown in the liquid specimen 12 from a CO2-gas storage tank 14 prior to the injection thereof to perform bubbling pretreatment. CO2-gas is blown in an amount eliminating a water dip and, for example, by bubbling CO2-gas in an amount of 0.5g per 100ml of water, a saturated state is obtained and the water dip is eliminated. By this method, the base line of the peak of an F- ion is not disturbed and accurate quantitative determination can be performed.
