PURPOSE:To shorten a term of works, by allowing to fit a safety valve to escape steam before beginning of the pressure resistance test of a nuclear reactor by providing a valve fixing device for said safety valve removably so as not to be opened this valve by the test pressure. CONSTITUTION:Nuclear reactor house 1 and nuclear reactor storing vessel 2 are built, and nuclear reactor 3 is set in them. Pipes are connected to nuclear reactor 3, and safety valve to escape steam 6 is fitted to main steam pipe 4, and pipe to escape steam 7 and so on are connected to said valve 6. Next, valve fixing device 27 is mounted on said valve 6, and handle 36 is rotated to advance pressing screw rod 34, and valve shaft 19 is pressed by valve pressing material 29 to press-fit valve body 11 to valve seat 12. Consequently, even if test pressure is applied, valve body 11 is not opened. Next, test pressure is applied into nuclear reactor 3, main steam pipe 4, and so on to perform the pressure resistance test.
