SEPARATION OF EMULSIFIED LIQUID MEMBRANE

PURPOSE:To rapidly separate the dispersed liquid droplets and dispersing medium of an emulsion by single operation, by filtering an emulsion having dispersed liquid droplets with a specific particle size obtained by using a surfactant by a polymer porous membrane having a specific average particle size. CONSTITUTION:For example, an emulsion having a dispersed liquid droplets with a particle size of 0.04-10mum formed by adding sodium lauryl sulfate with an HLB value of 40 to trioctylphosphate and water is filtered through a hydrophobic or hydrophylic polymer membrane such as a polytetrafluoroethylene membrane or a regenerated cellulose membrane having an average pore size of 0.02mum or more 50 times or less the particle size of the liquid droplets. By this method, not only the separation of the emulsion but also the separation of the dispersed liquid droplets and the surfactant can be performed.
