CONVERSION SYSTEM FOR KANJI NUMERAL IN NUMERAL CLAUSE

PURPOSE:To improve operability by performing a KANJI (Chinese character) numeral conversion in the candidata selection operation of a numeral clause. CONSTITUTION:With inputting '12 kai' from a keyboard 10, it is stored at an input buffer 16 and also, is displayed on a CRT32 as '12 kai'. By the depres sion of a conversion key, a continued clause KANA (Japanese syllabary)-KANJI conversion part 18 replaces a numeral part in an input character string with a # and retrieves an independent word dictionary 20 and numeral clause candidates '12 kai' (12th floor) and '12 kai' (12 number of times) are generated by independent words, 'kai' (a floor) and 'kai' (a number of time), and they are transferred to a numeral clause conversion part 24, and are converted to KANJI numerals, KANJI numeral candidates 36a and 36b corresponding to each of numeral clause candidates 34 being generated, and they are stored at a homonym information area in a document memory 26, the first-ranked numeral clause candidate '12 kai' (12th floor) being displayed. By the depression of the next dandidate key, the continued clause KANA-KANJI conversion part 18 selects the next candidate, '12 kai' (12 number of times), and displays it, and by the depression of a KANJI numeral conversion key, the first candidate, '12 kai' (twelve number of times) in Chinese characters is displayed.
