Slit radiography appts comprises an x-ray source (1) facing a longitudinal x-ray detector (5) in a housing (10), and a slit aperture (2) which passes a flat fan-shaped x-ray beam (3) moving (8) transversely to the width of the beam synchronously with (9) the detector to produce an image of a body (e.g. patient's chest 4) (cathode k, anode a, optical system 6, e.g., 10x10 cm film 7). The housing is provided with guide slots (11= to permit inserting a large-area x-ray film cassette (12) in front of the detector. These guide slots may also accommodate a dispersion grating (13) in front of the cassette and/or means may be provided to mount and drive a second slit aperture (14) in front of the cassette.
