METHODS FOR THE PURIFICATION OF WATER AND THE REMOVAL OF POLLUTANTS BY USING A MARINE ALGA, THE $i(LITHOTHAMNIUM CALCAREUM)

摘要

Specific studies have evidenced the adsorption capacities of the marine alga, lithothamnium calcareum, and from special preparation and drying methods, it can be used to 1) improve the qualitiy of consumption water; 2) decontaminate toxic elements (lead, cadmium, copper, zinc, nickel) of industrial effluents; 3) depollute natural water bodies (elimination of toxicants, mud removal, restauration of biological equilibrium).
