The invention relates to the field of transport, in particular to traction electric drives of vehicles powered by a DC contact network. The purpose of the invention is to increase reliability and reduce energy loss. Traction asynchronous motors 1 are connected by windings to the outputs of frequency converter 2, which through reactors 3 and 4 is connected to the outputs of pulse interrupters 5 and 6, whose inputs are connected through an inductive-capacitive filter 7 to a contact network 8 by means of a current collector 9. Converter 2 is designed as two current inverters 10 and 11 connected by a contactor 12. Parallel to each inverter and reactor, brake thyristors 13 and 14 and resistors 15 and 16 are connected. Filter 7 contains a reactor 17 and a capacitive element of two in series capacitors 18 and 19, the common point of which is connected to the common point of the return diodes 20 and 21, connecting the outputs of the circuit breakers 5 and 6, whose inputs are connected by additional diodes 22 and 23 to the contacts of the contactor 12.
