A tent of this type has a covering consisting of wall, roof and, if appropriate, ground elements which are held on a metal frame. In this arrangement, the frame is made up of profile rails and, according to the invention, in each case large-surface, inflatable air-chamber elements are fastened between said profile rails. These elements having a profiled surface are held, by means of draw-in weather strips provided around their edges, directly, or via additional zippers, in grooves of the profile rails. The two surfaces of the air-chamber elements are a relatively large distance apart and, after filling with air, have an exceptional stability, degree of sealing with respect to wind and rain and, in addition, an improved heat insulation. Tents with air-chamber elements of this type, into which double-paned windows may also be inserted, offer an all-year-round increase in the useful surface area, in particular on permanent camping sites, in conjunction with a camper van.
