ECL counter module with a decimal digital display for counting fast pulse events in decades, and counter cascade assembled therefrom

The invention relates to an ECL pulse counter module which can count pulses in decades by means of an emitter-coupled logic circuit, display them as decimal digits and output an extended carry pulse after in each case ten pulses. The counter module in each case contains components for a counting decade in a box-shaped housing and one display element each for a digit on its front face. On its two vertical sides, it carries a coaxial plug-in system which enables a number of such counter modules to be simply plugged together to form an ECL counter cascade due to the fact that the reset line (R) and the supply voltages (VEE, VCC) are carried through the housing and the associated sockets on the left-hand housing side are connected to corresponding plugs at exactly the same location on the right-hand housing side and a socket for the pulse input (E) on the right-hand housing side is opposite to a plug for the carry output (Ü) at exactly the same location on the left-hand housing side. The counter module has a key (T1, T2) by means of which the reset line (R) can be activated, and a further inverted carry output (U1) which provides for a fitting interconnection of the counter module with a counter of a different model which is slower but is a multi-digit counter (Figure 1).
