PURPOSE:To make uniform the projecting amounts of abrasive particles electro- deposited on a grindstone for dressing a pipe, by forming a dresser having its body surface electro-deposited thereon with ultrahard abrasive particles having a particle size of 40-600, which are harder than abrasive particles on a tool to be dressed. CONSTITUTION:Diamond abrasive particles 2 having a particle size of 40-600 as ultrahard abrasive particles which are harder than abrasive particles 5 on a tool 4 to be dressed, are electro-deposited on one surface of a steel rectangular block body 1 having been quenched and refined, so as to form a dressing surface. The projecting amounts of the diamond particles 2 are negligible in comparison with those of the particles 5 on the tool to be dressed. Further, the diamond particles 2 have a particle size such that they may enter into between the particles 5 on the tool to be dressed. When the tool 4 is dressed by the body 1, the setting of the tool 4 may be made, and further the free ends of the particles 5 which excessively project from the tool are broken to make the projecting amounts of the particles 5 uniform.
