PURPOSE:To miniaturize a dictionary and to easily carry a dictionary by providing respective types of a function necessary for an electronic dictionary at a ROM player, storing a large capacity memory element into the player, collecting it into an enclosure to be a single structure. CONSTITUTION:At the ROM player 2, a storing room storing a large capacity memory medium is formed, the mechanisms necessary for the electronic dictionary such as a power source part, an input part, a display part and an operation control part are provided in the ROM player, thus the single structure is obtained. Namely, by using a microcompact disk, an IC memory card, a magnetic bubble, etc., as memory media, an electronic dictionary can be formed which is miniaturized, built in the enclosure 20 of the ROM player to read, display, print and sound-output the data from the memory media, and has a single structure, portable, therefore the operation free from trouble is executed for a long period maintenance is not necessary, further, this dictionary is non- general-use, operated easily with low cost.
