TREATMENT OF TANK ACCUMULATED SLUDGE AND SEWAGE HAVING MALODOR OF OIL REFINING PLANT

PURPOSE:To effectively perform deodorizing treatment, by adding water-soluble divalent iron salt and alkali to waste water containing accumulated sludge and sewage. CONSTITUTION:The sewage forming an accumulated sludge layer and a sewage layer having a malodor in the tank of an oil refining plant is drawn out from the tank and water-soluble divalent iron salt is dissolved in the sewage to inject the sewage into a tank. An alkali aqueous solution is injected into the tank from other conduit and pH is kept. This operation is repeated to remove the malodorous substances of the sewage layer and the sludge layer. After deodorizing treatment, an oil component and sewage are drawn out from the tank and the deodorized sludge is treated with a solidifying agent such as gypsum or Portland cement. By this method, the accumulated sludge and sewage of a slope tank can be effectively subjected to deodorizing treatment and solidifying treatment.
