A benzoylurea compound, useful as an insecticide, is represented by the formula, CHEM wherein R is a hydrogen atom or a fluorine atom. It is prepared by reacting a benzoylisocyanate compound represented by the formula, CHEM wherein R is the same meaning as described above, with an aniline compound represented by the formula, CHEM Alternatively, an isocyanate having the formula CHEM is reacted with a benzamide compound of the foumula CHEM where R is as defined above.
