Device for employing metal strips having a high elastic limit which are intended to form a reinforcement for hydraulic concrete

Complex device intended to precede a machine producing a slab made of hydraulic concrete with a view to permitting the insertion into the concrete of metal strips having a high elastic limit, these strips being delivered in the form of coiled reels which are clamped so as to be free of permanent deformation of the strip. The device permits this insertion while respecting the usual constraints involved in positioning reinforcing steel, while preventing any risk of contamination or of permanent deformation of the strips, and providing for the possibility of the concrete machine advancing uniformly. This possibility is obtained by combining: - an unclamped-reel-unreeling carriage 4 which can be reloaded from a storage rack 5 of clamped reels 6 and can move on a railed beam 3 which is long enough to enable an equivalent length of unreeled strip to be available when the carriage becomes empty; - a device for joining two strips by means of a flexible plate and rivets or clips, it being possible for this joining to be carried out virtually instantaneously when changing over from the end of the first strip being consumed to the start of the second strip coming from the reloaded carriage. The device is completed by a slide 13 for inserting the strip into the concrete and by a complex device for supplying the concrete-using machine. IMAGE
