Machine for unidirectional plastic flow mechanical test at constant stress for soft tissue samples

The machine comprises a base 1, surmounted by two columns 2a and 2b, connected by an upper crosspiece 3 supporting a clamp 4. The load on the sample 7, which sample is fixed to 4 using the upper jaws 5, comes from a mobile instrument. This instrument, suspended from the sample 7 during the test, is the result of assembling the lower jaws 8, a holding plate 9, a plunger 10 allowing the sample to be stressed at a constant stress, and removable calibration loads 11. The electromagnet 6, which is integral with the columns 2a and 2b, immobilises the instrument before plastic flow. With the extension at 7, the plunger 10 is progressively immersed in the liquid 14 of the stationary reservoir 13. The transmitter 15 and receiver 16 transducers measure, via a reflective sheet 17 integral with 8, the extension of the sample 7. The machine can be used for soft tissue samples with small dimensions involving stresses such as forces applied ranging from 0.1 to 2 N. IMAGE
