METHOD OF SUBSTITUTING WATER FOR OIL IN UNDER BUOY HOSE FOR SINGLE POINT MOORING BUOY

PURPOSE:To simply substitute seawater for oil in an oil conveying hose, by providing such an arrangement that an oil tank and a seawater tank are disposed in a buoy, a substituting hose is laid in addition to the oil conveying hose between the buoy and the seabottom and valves in these hoses are selectively opened and closed at suitable times in order to drive a pump in the buoy. CONSTITUTION:An oil tank 2 and a seawater tank 3 are disposed in a buoy 1 which guides a material conveying hose 4 adapted to be communicated with a tanker, and oil conveying hoses 6, 7 and a substituting hose 8 are laid between the buoy 1 and a seabottom pipe 5. These hoses 6 through 8 may be communicated with a pump, the oil tank 2 and the sea water tank 3 through valves V1 through V6. In order to substitute seawater for oil in the oil conveying hoses 6, 7, valves V1, V2 are closed while the other valves are opened, and then the pump is driven. Therefore, seawater is introduced into the oil conveying hoses through the substituting hose so that oil in the oil conveying hoses 6, 7 are retrieved into the oil tank, thereby the substituting operation of oil may be made simple.
