APPLICATION OF INTERFACE FOR PART LIST BETWEEN CONCEPTUAL DESIGN TOOL AND CAD/CAM ENVIRONMENT

PURPOSE: To easily apply interface between a functional specification and a CAD/CAM environment by introducing a sketch sheet on a computer display into the function design of a product. CONSTITUTION: First of all, functional product structure is inquired to a user 14 by a reference system 12 and in response to the input of the user, a data base 10 catches that structure in a table. With the progress of reference session, parts introduced by the user 14 are possessed in the table by the relational data base 10, and functional hierarchical tree structure 16 is generated on a computer screen. After the product structure is fixed, an indentation parts list 18 is formed and stored in a computer graphics metafile(CGM). Then, this list is displayed in various CAD/CAM environments, these text characters are processed in the CAD/ CAM environment, and the image of the parts list is corrected.
