摘要

PURPOSE: To precisely and quickly estimate the abrasion and frictional characteristic of a material by moving an eccentric ring and disk relatively to each other by a certain distance under a set load in a state where a lubricant is interposed between the contact surfaces of the ring and disk and plotting the energy consumption on a graph as the function of the temperature of the lubricant. CONSTITUTION: A shaft 3 and, accordingly, an eccentric ring 5 are rotated against a disk 2 by means of a motor 6. A coil spring 2 presses the disk 2 to follow the eccentric rotation of the ring 5. A lubricant in a housing 17 is maintained at a prescribed temperature by means of a control unit 22. A torque recorder 12 measures the reaction moment generated by the friction between the disk 2 and the ring 5 attached on the shaft 3. The energy consumed by the friction between the disk 2 and ring 5, is calculated from the moment. The control unit 22 records the consumed energy together with the temperature of the lubricant and repeats the recording of the energy consumption and lubricant temperature many times whenever the temperature rises. Then the energy consumption is plotted on a graph as the function of the temperature of the lubricant.
