METHOD AND INSTRUMENT FOR DETECTING BREAKAGE OF COOLING APPARATUS IN BLAST FURNACE BODY

PURPOSE:To quickly detect breakage of cooling at high accuracy by arranging gas collector communicating with drainage pipe in the cooling body at outer side of a furnace, detecting electric conduction in the gas collector and sounding an alarm at the time of non-conduction. CONSTITUTION:The gas collector 7 communicating with the drainage pipe is arranged to the drainage pipe in the cooling body at outer side of the furnace. When the cooling body at inner side of the furnace is broken, furnace gas G is flowed in the cooling water W filled up in the collector 7 is drained out and the gas is filled up in the inner part of the collector. Under this condition, space between two electrodes 8, 9 is filled up with the furnace gas G to become the electric non-conducting state and the alarm lamp 11B is gone out to inform the breakage. By this method, the breakage of the cooling body can be quickly detected at high accuracy.
