PURPOSE: To mold substrate material for reproduction of folkcraft articles by introducing a blend of liquid polyisocyanate, polyol and the like that produces polyurethane into casting metal mold and making it hardened at a reduced pressure. CONSTITUTION: Casting metal mold 2 is that for producing complicate molding substrate material with inverse taper, and outer mold lubricant has been painted beforehand on its inner face. By evacuating interior of pressure reduction chamber 1 through vacuum evacuation hole 4 by driving evacuation unit after placing the casting metal mold 2 in the chamber 1, interior of the casting metal mold 2 is also evacuated through the hole opening at the same time. Then a blend of polyisocyanate, polyol, cross-linking agent and catalyst is introduced from blend introduction mouth 3 by a certain amount depending on casting size, heated in the casting metal mold 2 and hardened while thoroughly evacuating for degassing, and completed the process by breaking vacuum of the pressure reduction chamber 1. By conducting urushi or paint processing by means of substrate material like this, it is possible to make it a decorative folkcraft article having much artistic impression.
