The model can be used to simulate tree-stems (tree trunks) in a wood by means of rotary bodies 6 to 10 with a scale of 1:100 for situations and stem lengths, and with a scale of 1:10 for the stem diameters, fastened on the cover 1 of a storage cassette. Attached at the holding point for these trees is a transparent tubelet 2 with an internal scale along which a guide cylinder 3 with an angle plate 4 can move in a longitudinal bore in order to be able to set the covering point height for each rotary body coming into consideration, and to be able to read it off directly on the scale. This apparatus enables the graphic schematic clarification of many individual questions that arise during application of the optical measuring method of "angle count sample" for the purpose of determining the density of the volume of wood in the forest and the growth conditions (growing conditions, increment conditions).
