PURPOSE: To obtain a liquid fabric softener consisting of an aqueous dispersion containing each specified amount of a fabric softener and specific red dye, capable of imparting textile fabrics with excellent flexibility and desirable light-stable pink color when used in the rinsing cycle of domestic fabric washing operations. CONSTITUTION: This liquid fabric softener capable of imparting textile fabrics with excellent flexibility and desirable pink color when used in the rinsing cycle of domestic fabric washing operations by dispersing in water about 3-35 wt.% of a fabric softener and 1-1,000 ppm of a dye selected from D and C Red #17, D and C Red #30, D and C Red #37, and mixtures thereof; wherein the fabric softening composition is e.g. a reaction product of a higher fatty acid and a polyamine such as a hydroxyalkyl alkylenediamine, cationic surfactant bearing only one long-chain acyclic aliphatic 15-22C hydrocarbon group, cationic surfactant bearing one or more long-chain acyclic aliphatic 15-22C hydrocarbon groups and aralkyl group.
