PURPOSE: To obtain a recombinant nucleic acid or recombinant vector containing an insert formed by a recombinant hybrid nucleic acid under the control of a promoter recognized by the polymerase of an eukaryotic host. ;CONSTITUTION: This recombinant vector contains the nucleic acid fragment of the surface antigen S region of hepatitis B virus, and induces particles having the morphological characteristics of HBs Ag antigen, when transduced into a competent eukaryotic cell. Therein, the vector contains a foreign nucleotide sequence encoding an immunogenic amino acid sequence capable of inducing a neutralizing antibody against HIV retrovirus or being recognized by the antibody. The amino acid sequence contains at least one epitope capable of being recognized by B-lymphocyte and at least one lymphocyte capable of being recognized by T-lymphocyte. The foreign nucleotide sequence is inserted into a pre-S region or replaced with the whole or partial region of the pre-S region.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
