PURPOSE:To contrive the removal of a harmful ethylene gas and water by dispersively adding 1-15pts.wt. of powdered shirasu having an average particle size of 5-15mum to 100pts.wt. of resin and/or rubber. CONSTITUTION:1-15pts.wt. of the powdered shirasu having an average particle size of 5-15mum is dispersively added to 100pts.wt. of resin and/or rubber. The shirasu, widely distributed in the south Kyushu, is a thick pumice flow (pumice- tuff breccia), an extrusive pumice stratum or the secondary stratum formed by both of them, i.e. the eruptions which were vomitted from Ahira and Aso volcanos through the late 3rd period into the 4th period. This causes the removing operation of a harmful ethylene gas and humidity adjusting operation to take place in order to prevent the degradation and deterioration of perishable foods, etc.
