EVALUATING AGENT OF RUST PREVENTING EFFECT OF RUST PREVENTIVE AND TESTING METHOD FOR EVALUATION

PURPOSE:To evaluate the effect of rust prevention of a rust preventive on the reinforcing bars of a concrete building and the like by visual observation simply and accurately by using the gelled material of xanthan gum as a test body for evaluation of the effect of the rust prevention of the rust preventive. CONSTITUTION:The transparent material of xanthan gum wherein a rust preventive is added is inputted into a transparent frame in which reinforcing bars are arranged. Said material is made to be a gel state, and a test body is formed. The rusting state of the reinforcing bars in said test body is visually observed, and the effect of the rust prevention of the rust preventive is evaluated. The xanthan gum to be used is prepared as follows: a carbohydrate is fermented with xanthomonas.camperitis; the material is refined; and thereafter the material is dried and crushed. The material mainly comprises D-glucose, D-mannose, and the sodium salt, potassium salt and calcium salt of D-glucuronic acid.
