PURPOSE:To assuredly stop a sliding base at the position of performance with a simple constitution, by detaching a locking pin from a rack when the sliding base reaches the position of performance and then securing the engagement between the locking pin and the sliding base to stop the sliding base. CONSTITUTION:Both a sliding base 1 and a rack 5 are supported movably back an forth to a player cabinet and driven by a motor 2 provided on the base 1. The movement of the base 1 and rack 5 is prevented by the selective engagement of a locking pin 7a to the base 1. The movement of the base 1 and the rotary motion of a tone arm TM are all carried out just by pushing a start/stop switch. When a record is put on a turntable and the start/stop switch is pushed, the base 1 moves in the opposite direction to the previous time from a position (2) to a position (3). When the base 1 reaches the position (3), the pin 7a moves to engage the base 1. Thus the base 1 is stopped.
