MANUFACTURE OF HARDLY DISCOLORING AND HARDLY DEGENERATING MANGANESE CARBONATE

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled manganese carbonate not causing discoloration, degeneration, etc. even after long-term storage by reacting a manganese salt soln. with an alkali carbonate soln. and treating the resulting manganese carbonate with gaseous CO2 at a specified temp. CONSTITUTION:A soln. of a manganese salt such as manganese sulfate is reacted with an alkali carbonate soln. to deposit and precipitate manganese carbonate, and the manganese carbonate is separated by filtration, dried in the air, and treated with gaseous CO2 at ordinary temp.-400 deg.C. The manganese carbonate before drying may be treated with gaseous CO2 at ordinary temp.-400 deg.C and subjected to a treatment for preventing discoloration and degeneration while drying. Thus, the desired hardly discoloring and hardly degenerating manganese carbonate is obtd.
