A machine tool for cutting transverse ribs on a rectangular cross-section element for a heat exchanger has two instrument heads (5, 6) mounted on a stand (1) with the possibility of their synchronous rotation, their drives (15, 16) for the main cutting movement being kinematically connected to one and the same electric motor. The cutting instrument (7) is secured to each instrumental head (5, 6) perpendicularly to its axis (8, 9), whereas the mechanism (12) for the machine tool control is connected to a drive (13, 14) for setting the movement of each instrument head (5, 6) and is provided with a cam-type pusher (31) which is mounted with the possibility of translational movement along guides (2, 3) and of interaction with the blank (4) and is kinematically connected to a drive (32) for the translational movement of the blank (4).
