FLUID SEPARATOR, HOLLOW FIBER TO BE USED FOR CONSTRUCTIONTHEREOF AND PROCESS FOR PREPARATION OF SAID HOLLOW FIBERSABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREDisclosed is a fluid separator comprising a shellfilled with a bundle of hollow fibers having a selectivepermeability, wherein a majority of the hollow fiberseach has on the periphery thereof 1 to 10 fins extendingin the longitudinal direction, and the occupancy ratio yof the sections, defined by the peripheries, of all thehollow fibers exclusive of the fin portions in thehollow fiber bundle to the section, vertical to theaxial direction of the hollow fiber bundle, of the innerwall of the shell is within a range defined by thefollowing formula (I):41 - 3.1?.alpha.x ? y ? 61 - 3.1?.alpha.x (I)wherein x stands for the average fin number per hollowfiber in the hollow fiber bundle, and .alpha. indicates theratio H/d of the average fin height H (µ) in the hollowfiber bundle to the average outer diameter d (µ) of thehollow fibers exclusive of the fin portions.
