METHOD OF CONDITIONING AN ARTICLE OF SHAPE MEMORY METALLIC ALLOY HAVING TWO REVERSIBLE SHAPE MEMORY STATES

The method of conditioning an article of shape memory metallic alloy having a double-action shape memory in accordance with the invention comprises the operation s 01 to 07 consisting of - forming (01) at ambient temperature T1 the article (P) to the shape constituting a first shape memory state, - mechanically maintaining the article in its first shape memory state (02) and heating the mechanically held article to temperature T3 to transform it into a state of the austenitic crystallographic phase (03), - suddenly lowering the mechanically held article to a temperature T4 (04) and subjecting it to thermal stabilisation treatment (05) whilst still preserving its austenitic state, and - subjecting the article to an education process in order to shape it into the second shape memory state (06, 07).
