The coffee grinder has a base plate (1) supporting an electrically driven grinding tool (5) which is enclosed by an upstanding edge (6) projecting perpendicularly from the base plate (1). The upstanding edge (6) has an opening through which the ground coffee is discharged via at least one vane (8,9,10) integral with the rotary grinding tool (5). A stationary counter-tool (3) above the grinding tool (5) can be supported by a removable intermediate element (2) attached to the base plate (1) via a rapid-release fixing (11,13,11') to fit between the upstanding edge (6) and the counter-tool (3).
