In the case of the fire-control calculation in the command vehicle of the battery command loop of an army anti-aircraft system, the threat analysis makes optimum target assignment proposals and target returns, with the allocation of engagement areas, on the basis of the air situation, the engagement quality of the weapon systems, and the tactical rules. In this case, in contrast to the situation in the past, the engagement area is not assumed to be the circular weapon effectiveness area assigned to each weapon system but the system furthermore takes into account the fact that each weapon system (WaSystl) possibly has available only a sector (S1) of this area as an engagement area.
